The Educational Training Program (ETP) is SHFI's foundational offering for students and emerging creatives seeking structured entry into film and television production. Participants develop core competencies across key departments including camera, lighting, sound, grip, and production management.

ETP cohorts engage in hands-on, project-based learning within Story House Montana's working studio facilities. Instruction is delivered by active industry professionals, ensuring that curriculum remains current, practical, and directly applicable to the demands of professional production environments.

The program is designed to be accessible to participants at varying levels of prior experience, with an emphasis on equipping graduates with the skills and professional network needed to secure immediate employment in the regional and national film industry.

The Career Pathways Training Program (CPTP) is designed for individuals seeking to transition into the film and television industry from adjacent sectors or to advance within the industry through focused, professional development training.

CPTP participants engage in accelerated, role-specific training tracks tailored to production department needs. Program modules are developed in close collaboration with industry partners to ensure alignment with current hiring requirements and production standards.

The CPTP places a particular emphasis on career outcomes, including direct placement support, union and guild pathway guidance, and ongoing mentorship from established professionals. It serves as a bridge between training and sustained professional employment in the Montana and broader Mountain West film economies.
