LinkedIn Profile

James Brown III is the President, Chief Creative Officer, and Co-Founder of Story House, Inc. His former production company, Tríonóide Entertainment, LLC, was acquired by SHP, Inc., where James executive produced two award-winning films, White Flags and most recently Early Light.

Early Light was shot in Sheridan, Wyoming in partnership with CHAPS Equine Assisted Therapy. Twelve and a half percent of the film's capital raise and proceeds were awarded to this Wyoming-based organization dedicated to supporting veterans and children facing a wide range of mental health challenges. The film has been selected in dozens of film festivals and served as the catalyst for Story House and the journey to bring major studio infrastructure to the Mountain West.

Brown III founded Broadway Style Guide, a popular web-based lifestyle magazine focused on bridging fashion and Broadway. He served as the magazine's Creative Director and Fashion Editor until selling the brand to TodayTix in an acquisition in 2017. He also served as Fashion Editor of Chill Magazine, produced by Out.

Along with his father James Brown Jr., actor Boris Kodjoe, and Patrick Kodjoe, Brown III is a co-founder of World of Alfa, a web-based made-to-measure suit and clothing company. His experience in fashion and design also includes costume designing for two Broadway shows, two films, and a music video, styling countless public figures, and serving as Artistic Director for the niche fashion label Harbison.

With more than a decade of experience in marketing, creative direction, artistic direction, design, journalism, and writing, James Brown III leads the creative vision of Story House across development, studio infrastructure, and film and television production.

As an actor and artist, James has built a 20-year career as an actor, singer, dancer, and model. He has performed in twelve Broadway shows including Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Frozen, Rocky, Ghost, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Memphis, The Little Mermaid, The Color Purple, Wicked, The Producers, The Frogs, and The Lion King.
